Bhutanese culture and tradition is an expression of Buddhist values, sentiments and practices. In a nutshell, Bhutan’s unique culture and tradition enunciates the country strength, sovereignty and identity of a tiny Himalayan Kingdom.

For centuries, Bhutanese conduct is governed by a set of etiquettes derived from the monastic institutions and locally referred to as ‘Driglam Namzha’ loosely translating to ‘the rules of disciplined behavior.’ Be it at home or in a formal setting, a Bhutanese is expected to conduct themselves discreetly. Other cultural aspects like festivals, food, dress, art and craft, language, songs and dances are all considered intangible set of culture and over the years it has evolved. However, the tangible form of  culture distinguished through the country’s unique architect, marvelous fortresses and eccentric temples are well preserved.
