Wanderlust trails: Adventurous Trekking and Hiking

Road connectivity reached Bhutan in the early 1960s and until then mules, horses and yaks were used for transportation. With the inception of tourism, Trekking routes in Bhutan are developed along the ancient routes- passing through the valleys, gradually ascending to the mountain passes and descending to a whole new valley.

While the exclusive Himalayan flora and fauna inhibiting the majestic mountains and awe-inspiring glacial lakes create a strikingly exclusive destination, a harmonious coexistence of the scenic beauty with modern human settlement in a sustainable manner is an enthralling fact of a country driven by principles of Gross National Happiness.

The thrill of mountain biking

There are range of biking trails starting with smooth ride on paved roads to off-road dirt trails winding through rugged terrains. Biking is a relatively new trend in the country and becoming popular. In fact the country host one of the most difficult one day competition called the tour of the dragon spanning across four districts covering more than 260KM. the race flag offs in central Bhutan (Bumthang) and ends in the Capital (Thimphu).

Peddling above 3,400M, across the lush forest and High Mountain passes. Your effort will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the nature. Many of the biking trails lead through small villages and temples .

Brave the rapids

The swift untamed rivers system of Bhutan (Wang Chhu, Sunkosh, Puna Tsang Chhu, Mangde Chhu, Kuri Chhu and Dangme Chhu and their tributaries), have been scouted for kayaking and rafting.

The rafting experience will take you through high valleys to low plains. You can explore the amazing wilderness and picturesque landscape the nature can offer. The river system of Bhutan offers wide choices for the adventurers depending on their level of skill and experience. We have skilled guides to ensure your safety. The best time for rafting and kayaking is from March to April and November to December.
